Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Bird Language is an engaging and enlightening course designed to introduce students to the captivating world of avian communication. Birds are nature's poets, storytellers, and environmental indicators, and by delving into their language, you will gain a deeper connection to the natural world. This course combines scientific knowledge, ecological awareness, and the joy of birdwatching to help you unlock the secrets of nature. Here is what you can expect to learn in this class: Introduction to avian Language. Bird identification and observation. Develop essential birdwatching skills to identify common bird species by sight and sound. Utilizing bird communication as an extension of your awareness. Discover the importance of field guides, binoculars, and other birdwatching tools. Learn how to record and decipher bird calls and songs using Merlin Bird ID. Understand the significance of context and timing in interpreting avian vocalizations. Recognize the alarm calls and other vocal signals that birds use to warn of predators. Explore the interconnectedness of birds with their habitats and ecosystems. Gain insights into the role of birds as indicators of environmental change.
