You will learn to identify, harvest, and utilize a variety of plants for culinary, practical, and medicinal purposes. Introduction to Ethnobotany: Learn how indigenous peoples have used plants for food, medicine, and everyday tools. Gain a deeper understanding of the cultural significance of these plants in the region. Plant Identification: Learn to identify a range of native and introduced plant species. Discover key features, growth habits, and habitats that make these plants unique and valuable. Edible Plants: Discover which local species are safe to consume. You'll learn about the nutritional value and culinary uses of these plants, providing you with an opportunity to sample some wild edibles. Useful Plants: Explore the practical applications of plants, including those that can be used for weaving, cordage, fire-making, and tool crafting. Medicinal Plants: Learn about the medicinal properties of select local plants and their traditional and modern uses for treating common ailments.
