Day: Tuesdays Time: 10:30am-2:30pm Location: Pasadena (WK) Ages: 12 and up Instructors: Chris Morasky and Rachel Natland Cost: $70 per day drop-in; $375 for six-pack of classes; or $750 for the semester 12 weeks - September 11-December 5th (excluding the week of 11/20) **Payment plans, discounts, and reparations available. Please contact us for details. **Charter funds accepted Welcome to NELA Freeschool Days held in the cozy and inviting atmosphere of a private home! This unique educational experience is designed to foster learning, community engagement, and personal growth. Whether you're a lifelong learner, an aspiring enthusiast, or simply curious about a variety of subjects, our Freeschool offers an open and welcoming environment for you to explore, discuss, and expand your knowledge. Class size is limited to a small group in order to encourage meaningful interactions and authentic relationship building. Our Freeschool isn't just about acquiring knowledge; it's also about building connections and a sense of community. Students will have opportunities to network, make new friends, and share their interests with others who are equally passionate about learning and connecting. This is a collaborative, participatory mentoring program open to curious minds aged 12 and up. Our home already has much to offer regarding supplies, equipment, and location. We are within walking distance of a supermarket and a mini-downtown area full of independently owned shops and eateries. Public transportation options are within a short walking distance, too. Here are just some of the areas we could explore right away: ~ Homesteading skills ~ Bushcraft skills ~ Camping/Wilderness skills ~ Culinary Arts ~ Woodworking ~ Engineering projects ~ Fiber arts of all kinds ~ Event planning/hosting ~ Community Science ~ Community and Civil Engagement ~ Neighborhood plant walks ~ Arts and Crafts ~ Literature and Writing ~ Philosophy, Metaphysics, and Mindfulness ~ Sociology, political science, history, social justice ~ Physical sciences ~ Permaculture Arts ~ Critical thinking and media analysis ~ Physical fitness/nutrition Anything our students dream up that we cannot facilitate ourselves will be resourced and provided by mentors with student participation. The world is their oyster and we are here to crack it wide open!
Cancellation Policy
To cancel your booking for a full refund, you must cancel no later than 30 days before the start date of the offering. All bookings are fully transferable at any time. You must email us with the name and contact information of your transferee. Our offerings take place rain or shine. We do not cancel or refund for inclement weather. We do not offer refunds for COVID-related issues.
