Welcome to Wild Science, an exhilarating weekly class that takes students on a captivating journey through the wonders of the natural world. In this class, we will delve into various scientific disciplines, from ecology to biology, physics to chemistry, and engineering to geology. Through hands-on experiments, interactive discussions, and engaging activities, participants will develop a deep understanding of the interconnectedness of nature and the principles that govern our world. **Work samples provided for charter schools. Time: 1pm - 3pm Location: Pasadena Age: 7+ Cost: $40 drop-in OR $180 for 6 sessions Instructors: Chris Morasky and Rachel Natland Parents are welcome to join us but not required. 12 Weeks: September 13 - December 6th (no class on 11/22) Fall Curriculum (subject to change): Ecology - Western Science and Indigenous Knowledge Science Basics - Tools, Concepts, Safety, Taxonomy Energy Basics - Charcoal and the Carbon Cycle Ornithology - Bird Study Entomology - Bugs, Insects, and Spiders Basic Anatomy - Frog Dissection Basic Anatomy - Fish Dissection Comparative Anatomy - Owl Pellets Botany - Plant Dissection and Plant Identification Photosynthesis Fungi - All About Mold Fungi - Mushroom Inoculation Join us in this class, where we'll ignite your curiosity and inspire a lifelong passion for scientific inquiry and environmental stewardship.
